The vineyards at El Grifo have produced malvasía wines since the end of the XVIII century. They are situated in the protected area of La Geria, in San Bartolome, an area covered with volcanic ash after the eruptions between 1730 and 1736. Harvest is carried out manually resulting in approximately half a million bottles yearly.
