We got picked up at our hotel in a taxi, which we weren't really expecting, since we assumed we'd be picked up in the minibus itself. We were taken to a meeting point where there were several minibuses and several tour groups. We got allocated to a 12-seater minibus. The bus was full but fairly comfortable, and fortunately the journey was only about 30 minutes. We changed guides when we got to Monte Alban. The guide was very good and gave excellent context about the site and its archeological significance, but there was a bit too much detail, which reduced the amount of time we had to explore the site. The trip back to town was good, and the staff were flexible about dropping people off at various locations.

I understand that Get Your Guide connects you to local tour groups, but the local group running this tour is incredibly disorganized. A van goes around picking up several people at different hotels (bound for different tours) and brings them to a road where people are shuffled around on different vans so that you are sorted into the right place for the tour you signed up for. This alone took ages and by the time we reach the ruins it was past 11am. The quality of the tour itself was also sub-par.
